JEMs is an approved After School Care allowing you to receive generous government benefits, specifically the child care rebate which covers 50% of the fees and is NOT means tested. Furthermore, you can opt to have the rebate paid directly to us thereby only being charged the gap fee. The majority of families are eligible for the rebate (see details below).
For those on a lower income there is also the Child Care Benefit, which provides an additional small deduction in fees.
It is our policy that no child be denied a Jewish education for any reason. If you are experiencing a genuine financial hardship please contact us to arrange a confidential subsidy
In order to receive the payments we will need you to fill in the CRN numbers and some other relevant info on the enrollment form or they can be provided at a later date.
If you are not certain whether you are registered for these payments, please contact the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) on 136150 and state that you have a school aged child who will be attending an approved after school care.
Child Care Benefit
Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a means tested payment made to families to assist with the cost of childcare.
Families using approved childcare are able to choose to receive CCB through fee reductions OR as a lump sum payment after the Australian Taxation Office has processed their tax return. For families choosing the fee reduction option, the level of reduction is based on their combined estimated taxable income for the year in which care was received.
It is imperative that you inform us if you have other siblings listed on the assessment notice who are attending another approved childcare service.
Child Care Rebate
Child Care Rebate (CCR) is an additional Government payment, which is paid to parents who are both either working, studying or volunteering, etc.
Currently there are no minimum hours of work required in order to qualify for the rebate.
The CCR is a 50% rebate on any out of pocket childcare expenses. This rebate is not means tested.
